About the NextGen Programme

Looking to jumpstart your career? Our NextGen Programme offers technical and professional training across various dynamic and collaborative domains, enhancing your skills and enables you to contribute to impactful projects. Since its inception in 2015, this programme has nurtured 5 cohorts of passionate tech professionals.


NextGen Programme Structure

Being part of #TeamCPF means embarking on a challenging and rewarding career in a progressive workplace that values productivity and growth. Here’s what awaits you: 

  • Technical Training: Gain essential technical knowledge through a blend of formal and informal training.
  • Experiential Learning: Contribute to impactful national ICT projects, advancing technology and critical initiatives.
  • Job Rotations: Rotate across different departments or job functions including stretch assignments to broaden your expertise.
  • Leadership Development: Participate in programmes designed for career progression.
  • Mentorship: Receive guidance from a mentor to achieve your career goals.

As a NextGener, you will embark on a permanent tenure and will start as a Junior Term in the initial 2-year. This phase will lay the foundation for your IT career within CPF Board. Exceptional individuals will have the chance to progress to the Senior Term for an additional 2-year, where you will benefit from job rotation to gain diverse experiences, deepen your IT knowledge based across multiple facets of the IT landscape. Those who excel during the Senior Term may be selected to join the Board's talent management programme. Regardless of progression path, all NextGeners will have the opportunity to continue contributing your expertise and make meaningful impact with the Board. 


What you will be working on

  • Innovative and Impactful national ICT Projects: Harness on technology to support Singaporeans in funding their needs in retirement, housing and healthcare. 
  • Diverse Opportunities: Explore and work in a wide range of areas with a team of 700 IT professionals with diverse job functions from Application Development & Support, Cloud Computing, ICT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps to Robotics & Automation.
  • Professional Growth: Gain essential technical knowledge through on-the-job training, and a structured leadership development programme.

We are dedicated to the ethos of "Work Smarter, Live Better" by continually innovating and optimising our work processes. Our goal is to harness emerging technologies and develop future-ready skills, enabling you to utilise cutting-edge advancements like GenAI and cloud-based resources to deliver seamless IT solutions. These efforts enhance our overall well-being and support the creation of a high-performing, scalable, and sustainable IT workforce that excels in an ever-evolving tech landscape. Join us in exploring the following functions:

  • Application Development & Support: you will analyse user requirements, designing and implementing solutions, supporting regular updates, testing, fixing errors, ensuring security, and facilitating communication with stakeholders.
  • Cloud Computing: you will manage cloud resources, ensuring smooth operation, and supporting software development and deployment in the cloud environment.
  • ICT Infrastructure: you will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining our servers, storage systems, and operating systems to ensure maximum uptime, performance, and reliability.
  • Cybersecurity: you will be at the forefront of protecting the Board's digital assets, employing proactive measures to prevent, detect, and respond to threats from risk assessments to network monitoring to ensure robust security protocols and user education, fortifying our defenses.
  • DevSecOps: you will blend software development, IT operations, and security practices to streamline secure software delivery.
  • Robotics & Automation: you will create and refine robotics systems and automated processes to improve efficiency from conducting testing to ensure functionality and collaborate with teams to integrate these solutions seamlessly into existing workflows.


What we are looking for 

We value the diverse talents and experiences that each individual brings to the table. While mastery of every requirement may not be necessary, familiarity and expertise in some of the following areas will position you for success within this team. 

We are seeking passionate Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, either fresh IT graduates or IT professionals with no more than 2 years of experience to join our team.

  • Working as a team: Ability to form effective partnerships and collaborate across teams, with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Working effectively with citizens and stakeholders: Ability to engage, rally, and mobilise stakeholders toward common goals
  • Keep learning and putting skills into action: Possess curiosity and courage to learn, adapt, and apply new skills and knowledge in the face of evolving work practices.
  • Improving and innovating continuously: Possess an agile mindset to seek continual improvements and demonstrate boldness in exploring new ideas while managing associated risks.
  • Serving with heart, commitment, and purpose: Demonstrate genuine care and empathy for stakeholders by considering issues from their perspectives.

Application Process

  1. Submit Your Application: Click on “Apply Now” button below and ensure you include your most recent educational transcript along with details of your class of degree obtained or expected in your submission.
  2. Online Assessments: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to complete our online assessment.
  3. Assessment Centre: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend a one-day Assessment Centre in person, scheduled between November to December 2024.
  4. Interview: If selected, you will be invited for a final onsite interview with our core management team.
  5. Application Outcome: Our HR team will notify you of the application outcome by February 2025. Successful candidates will embark on their journey with #TeamCPF starting in July 2025.
