KDN Tax & Legal’s solutions (e.g. Indirect Tax Compliance, Global Mobility Services, Legal Managed Services, Transfer Pricing, etc.) each operate like a standalone business within the KDN member firm. The KDN Global Solution Lead (owner) is essentially a “mini-CEO” of that respective KDN business (KDN solution).

Therefore, the KDN Global Solution Lead (owner) role for Indirect Tax is “KDN’s Head of Indirect Tax Services”.  S/he is the executive leader in KDN accountable for all elements of its Indirect Tax solution, including its transformation, growth, and its overall business performance (client experience, quality, efficiency/automation, and KDN level P&L).

Stakeholder management is an essential element of the role, with the primary stakeholders being the Global Head of Indirect Tax for KPMG International, the Heads of Indirect Tax in each of the Member Firms, and the broader GITS and Tax Reimagined leadership teams and their communities. The role will also be a prominent face of KDN with KPMG’s IDT clients and targets.

Given the size and complexity of the business as well as the opportunities in front it, the role requires the full-time attention of a globally respected Indirect Tax partner (VAT/GST). The IDT Solution Lead’s success will leverage his/her business/people leadership experience and influencing skills, allyships across KPMG’s GITS network, and most importantly a drive to leverage KPMG’s global delivery model for IDT the catalyst to dominate the global market for Indirect Tax compliance services.

  • Ensure solution-level skill definition (technical and professional) exists, technical and hard skills are built and maintained, and staff are up to speed on the latest relevant tax technology
  • Ensures a BCP / DR (Business Continuity Plan / Disaster Recovery) strategy is developed and implemented, in collaboration with the KDN Center Heads.
  • Accountable and/or Responsible (per within KDN internal RACI) for all elements of the IDT business within KDN from new cleint onboarding, to transitions, contracting, engagement management, fiscal representation services, ’cost charges’ (pricing) to member firms, defining technology requirements, and delivery.
