You will be joining the Digital and Technology Project Management Team (DT-PMT) to work as a  Senior Project Manager/Project Manager here at KPMG. We work closely with our clients across diversified industries such as retail, FMCG, manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, etc. to shape and lead technology-enabled business change engagements, typically motivated by digital transformation agenda, realising operational efficiencies, timely management information and insights, etc.

We work with clients to maximise business benefits and optimise delivery. This means shaping projects and programmes and then delivering them through the full business change lifecycle using the best-fit approach, e.g., scaled agile, scrum, waterfall, or a hybrid version. We ensure key stakeholders are engaged in designing, delivering, and adopting changes and that they retain accountability to maximize lasting benefits over the long term.

As a digital and technology focused project manager, you will be joining a collaborative and energetic team of data analysts, software engineers, automation specialists, innovation specialists and business analysts that share projects delivery knowledge and experiences. Our team covers a broad range of functional and technical domains you will have the opportunity, and be expected, to grow your skill set and experience across a variety of these. 

We are looking for a proactive individual with experience of managing mid to large size teams, projects or workstreams – across diversified industries and markets – who is motivated by delivering successful engagements with clients, has a thirst to learn more and is excited to contribute to grow our team. One of the important Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) would be timely delivery of projects with high quality.

You are expected to have project management experience, having led teams and technology enabled projects (such as Business Intelligence (BI) or Automation projects implementation). You will have assisted through the complete business change lifecycle from feasibility through to project definition, mobilisation, development (analyse / design / build / test activities), deployment (i.e., UAT), and post-delivery support.

You will be aware of the big picture level but be focused on securing the successful delivery of defined projects or leading sub work stream teams. You will have good technology skills and are likely to have been through some formal technology delivery training, e.g., through your work experience in commercial organisation, consulting firm or technology organisation. You will have developed project management capabilities and will be looking to develop your career in this direction.

To excel in this role, you must be a team lead or have project management experience and be keen to develop your career in a structured but forward-thinking environment. You will have some experience of the core delivery levers of scope, time, budget, quality, and risk and have insight into how they are used to create and maintain the optimum delivery mix. You will have a clear understanding of governance, scoping, planning, timeliness in project delivery, project finances, quality, resourcing, risks, issue management, and communications.

Responsibilities:

• Be accountable on the successful implementation of the technology-enabled projects, including setting a clear PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services, and deliverables.
• Monitor projects reporting and take the lead for reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders. This includes prepare for regular status reporting for the engagement leads.
• Establish frameworks and standards for Project Management. Manage and compile Project related financial and KPI information (e.g., timeliness of project delivery)
• Ensure project finances (e.g., change requests and costs overrun are well-managed). Track financial reporting whilst ensuring that the projects adhere to the agreed budget/timeline.
• Prepare and update and maintain the Risk and Action Log and Issue Register
• Develop and take accountability on project planning, milestone management (e.g., sprint reviews), scope management and resource planning
• Coordinate project closure to distil good practice and ensure lessons learned are logged.
• Build cohesion within the team and motivate team to produce quality work.

Requirements :

• 6 to 8 years of experience as a delivery Project Manager on technology-enabled projects such as Data and Analytics, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI), Automation or system implementation)
• Prior consulting experience is desirable, but not a must
• Degree in Computer Science or IT, Business Analytics, or any relevant degree
• PMP certification would be a strong advantage
• Experience of the systems development lifecycle for waterfall and agile projects in technology-enabled projects.
• Experience of project management, team management, client relationship management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with project documentations from project charter, statement / scope of work, contracts, requirements documentation, stakeholder register, change control register, activity list, quality metrics, risk register, issue log, and other similar documents.
• Familiarity with technology-enabled projects (including requirements definition and gathering, business-process mapping, delivery model, system/solution architecture design)
• Familiarity with projects delivery concepts like systems integration, systems implementation, sprint reviews, testing and release management
• Solid problem solving, decision making, logical thinking, and analytical capabilities
• Confident in with dealing with complexity and ambiguity, understanding how this impacts projects
• Confident in managing team members and dealing with client stakeholders
• Technical knowledge and experience in the following areas would be added advantage:
• Data warehousing and BI
• Data architecture, including data model design and implementation (incl. relational and dimensional)
• Intelligent automation, including RPA tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.
• Software development
• Passionate and has the drive to excel in project delivery and to mentor other team members
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Committed, creative, resourceful, and ready to work under pressure
• Possess great leadership skill and teamwork spirit
