Description:

The role is with the Project Management Office services within our Technology Consulting in Advisory practice. We work with clientS to deliver technology innovations to better align their technology capabilities with their strategic and operational objectives. We focus on Project Management, development of digital & IT strategies and advice on IT operations, efficiencies as well as cost reduction. 


 This role will support a broad range of project management and strategy client engagements in accordance with KPMG practices, methodologies and tools. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of IT implementation and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), as well as experience in supporting project management delivery. In this role, you will be expected to support a number of project engagements and will have the opportunity to work in a diverse, multifaceted team. You will also be providing support to develop the team’s delivery capability and portfolio.


You should have strong communication & interpersonal skills and are able to adapt change. You must be comfortable working with team members of all levels as well as work with minimal supervision. We serve clients all over Malaysia and you should be prepared to travel for periods up to 3 or 4 weeks at a time.


 Responsibilities:

Provides support to formulate project management, digital and ICT strategies to align client technology objectives towards business improvement.

Provides consistent and continuous project management guidance including methods, tools and techniques for consistent project delivery outcomes for clients.  

Provides project management support to the project lead and/or project manager, including:

o monitoring overall project progress.


o track deliverables and activities completion.


o proactively consolidates and monitors project issues and risk.


o reports slippages of tasks or milestone.


o facilitate timely resolution of issues and risks.


o consolidates and updates weekly/monthly/quarterly project status reports.


o supports the development and updates of work plans, work breakdown structures and other project management documentations.


Provides support in project interdependency management and coordination among business analysts, technical teams, deployment teams, business stakeholders and third-party technology vendors. 

Assist to manage the change control framework and facilitate change requests deliberation and approval.

Provides support for the management of policies, framework, procedures that defines the establishment, management and control of the projects.   

Facilitates discussion, consultation, and provides advisory related to the project.

Provides support and assistance in gathering requirements, develop implementation strategies and identify improvement opportunities to meet clients' business objectives based on data gathering using interview techniques, industry research, technology trends, insights and data.    

Supports the day-to-day operations of the IT-ET PMO service line.

 

Requirements :

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any related field.


At least 2 to 4 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.


Experience in providing hands-on project management support, understanding of project management approaches and project governance.


Strong knowledge, experience in software development and/or IT/Digital implementations.


Good understanding and/or experience in latest digital trends, digital/IT strategy and transformation as well as technologies such as AI, IoT, big data, cloud computing or similar technologies.


Self-motivated, proactive, able to work well under pressure and committed to deliver quality.


Critical thinker and strong analytically in problem-solving.


A team player with strong interpersonal skills but also able to work with minimal supervision.


Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (written and oral)

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and oral).


Exposure to a range of industries would be ideal, but not essential. However, exposure in government sector project delivery is an added advantage.


Experience in Agile environment and/or a professional certification in Agile and/or PMP and/or CAPM and/or equivalent is also an added advantage.
