Description:

KPMG Malaysia Risk Management Department (RMD), with its focus to:

• Assists the Firm’s Risk Management Partner and Ethics & Independence Partner in implementing and facilitating compliance with ISQM-1, Global Quality & Risk Management Manual policies, applicable laws, regulations and professional standards

•  Liaise with all parts of the business as necessary on compliance obligations and issues impacting KPMG Malaysia to ensure consistency in approach and commitment to compliance across KPMG Malaysia

•  Facilitates the ongoing development and review of the ISQM-1 controls and risk management initiatives to assist KPMG Malaysia’s effort in improving its quality, risk and compliance initiatives


Responsibilities:

• Working with the Compliance Testing Lead to develop the annual testing plan as required by KPMG Global Q&RM policies, applicable laws, regulations and professional standards

• Coordinate with the Process Owners in relation to the compliance testing across the functions and businesses

• Perform and document controls testing in KPMG required tools and systems

• Provide progress reports to the internal stakeholder teams and Risk Management Partner

• Review Global deployment materials and assess the appropriate planning of the compliance review

• Report the findings to internal stakeholders and facilitate the action plans and remediation actions from the Process Owners, monitor completion and provide progressive report to internal stakeholder teams and Risk Management Partner

• Be a resource to Process Owners on questions relating to the compliance review and procedures


Requirements :

•A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting/ Business Administration/ Finance / Internal Audit or other relevant discipline

• 5 to 7 years’ working experience relevant to the responsibilities stated above

• Has high self-initiative, resourceful, strong analytical skills, attentive to detail and an excellent command of written and spoken English

• Able to handle communication that demonstrates high professionalism with all levels including management level and external parties

• Knowledge and experience in Excel spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft Excel. Experience and knowledge in Microsoft applications such as PowerBI, Power Automate is an added advantage

• Candidates should be comfortable as a self-starter with the ability to work independently, work with systems (including Global tools and systems) and conduct hands-on fieldwork

• The ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality is critical

• Eager to learn and seek knowledge in order to highlight shortcomings and recommend possible improvements to the existing methods

•Highly adaptable to changing circumstances and environment and able to work under tight deadlines if necessary
